What is a Bubble or A Bubble Worth Bursting?

Have you ever contemplated, what is a bubble? In the Wizard of Oz, the "good witch Glinda" descended in a bubble. Kids blow bubbles. And for those of you who remember, Lawrence Welk had the ultimate bubble machine, surrounding his orchestra with a cloud of bubbles. Bubbles LaRou has her place in history as well.

Mayor Daley has now entered the Bubble Age. The city of Chicago passed an ordinance last year, creating a "bubble zone".  The Bubble Zone ordinance prohibits approaching within 8 ft. of a person, without consent, "for the purpose of passing a leaflet or hand-bill to, displaying to, or engaging in oral protest, education or counseling."

National media attention focused on Chicago, when Joseph Holland a Northwestern University graduate student, was arrested outside of Planned Parenthood's near North Side facility on July 3rd after the faculty staff called the police and claimed he violated the ordinance by praying on the public sidewalk.

The Thomas More Society entered the case, not in a bubble, but with sound legal expertise. They announced that the city of Chicago has dismissed the false and baseless charges against Joe Holland. Peter Breen, the Thomas More executive director and legal counsel, stated, "The First Amendment protects prayer on a public sidewalk in Chicago, the same as in every other city in the country. We hope the city will cease the suppression of pro-life speech under the "bubble zone" ordinance, and dismiss this case and the case brought against David Avignone, who was also arrested a few days after Joe.

The Thomas More society secured a dismissal of all charges against the 1st arrestee, under the city's "bubble zone" ordinance for Joseph Holland. David Avignone's appearance in court will be August 30th.

Bubble's are either burst or penetrated. In the case of Chicago's "bubble zone", the pro-abortion agenda was penetrated with the light of sound legal expertise. This national case has shed a lot of light on the abortion protection that the city of Chicago mandated around abortion clinics. The ultimate goal would be to burst the "bubble zone."
