Sarah Knew Best

Death panels made the news, but only one major media figure reported these facts.   Bill Gates gave credibility to Sarah Palin in his recent announcement that the only way to curve the rising cost of health care is to establish panels that will ration care, aka. death panels.  The media went into a feeding frenzy when Sarah Palin announced that Obama's Health Care Bill would lead to death panels.  The winds of time change, and now the media is fawning over Bill Gates and his promotion of death panels as cost containment measures.

Question - Why is the media interviewing billionaire Bill Gates on the health care plan?  Answer - Because they are in total agreement with his philosophy.  Question - Why are people still reading and supporting major media?  Answer - I'm trying to figure it out.

Back to Bill.  Bill stated in an interview, "saving 10 teachers jobs is worth more than extending a human life 3 months."  Wow!  I wonder if he has been in the public schools lately.  Probably, because his social agenda confirms what is being taught there.  For example, in Wisconsin, the teacher's union is fighting to have Viagara covered in their health care plan at a cost of $700,000 a year to the taxpayer.  What a great debate for school kids to hear.  Ah, this writer has a solution.  Let's blame it on the oil spill and get the free taxpayer parent/teacher guide from HHS that tells us that all of our problems are a result of the oil spill.

At the Aspen Institute, Bill Gates said, "the U.S. must get medical costs under control and reexamine its funding priorities to prevent its education system from further erosion."  Wow again!  On the 4th of July, Chicago media interviewed young school aged kids on the meaning of our nation's birthday.  Almost 100% of the kids interviewed had no idea what the 4th of July celebrates.  Some thought it was freedom from slavery, and others knew it meant something but just didn't know what. The best answer I heard was that of a 7th grader who thought it celebrated the invention of the fire cracker.

Bill Gates speaking at a packed house at the Benedict Music Tent at the Aspen Festival said, " the country has demonstrated an unwillingness to question if spending $1 million on the last three months of a person's life is a cost-effective direction, especially considering the same amount of money can keep 10 teachers employed."

Not content just to save teachers, Bill Gates in his "Kill Bill" mode goes after medical specialists.  Mr Gates believes that our medical system should be criticized for having 3 times as many specialists as general practitioners.  "That is uniquely American.  Germany has a 1 to 1 ratio of specialists to doctors and has created one of the highest quality and lowest cost health care system."  Pontificating further, Mr. Gates said, "in America numerous specialists take care of little pieces of things and there is no incentive to keep a person healthy with preventative care.  There's now some artificial thing where the sicker the patient is, the more money you make."  That deserves a third Wow!  I wonder if by preventative medicine,he means vaccinating the world against swine flu?  After all, Bill Gates believes in vaccines.  He's a major funder of worldwide vaccinations.  Not all of them have turned out so well for the person vaccinated.

Bill Gates is an elitist.  I'm sure he will seek out a cardiologist or urologist when age appropriate diseases occur.  I also think his family is well insured and will not be dependent on the government for their care.
