Pro-Life Protests Call Attention to Planned Parenthood Practices

Falls Church, Virginia
Rose Mimms, the executive director of Arkansas Right to Life, attended the rally in Little Rock. “People understand they need to be out there to let others know what Planned Parenthood is doing.” Mimms noted that the peaceful protest brought out a lot of new faces who had not been involved in pro-life activism before. “The videos are having an impact and it’s a positive one,” she added.

In addition to rallies and other grassroots efforts, social media is playing a huge role in driving the national conversation.
NetBase, a Silicon Valley firm that analyzes social-media trends, found, “In the three months preceding the release of the first video, the ratio of positive to negative comments about Planned Parenthood averaged 4:1. In the week following the release of the first video negative comments surpassed positive ones with a ratio of 3:2.”

From the beginning, abortion advocates have used deceptive language to hide the humanity of the unborn child. Now, the Planned Parenthood videos show abortion industry officials discussing babies’ intact hearts, brains, limbs, and livers. These babies are hardly amorphous “blobs of tissue” or “products of conception” as the abortion industry wants us to believe.
Americans are facing what really happens to an unborn child in abortion. For example, unborn babies are killed by being torn limb from limb in dismemberment abortions. And in the majority of states, abortions can be performed on unborn babies capable of feeling pain.
The question being asked should not be “How do we stop the trafficking of baby body parts?” but rather “How do we stop unborn babies from being killed in the first place?” It’s up to the pro-life movement to harness the energy of the Planned Parenthood protests and channel it into our broader efforts to secure legal protection for unborn children.
