Tomorrow morning at 11:30 a.m. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) will hold a press conference in Washington, D.C. to announce that he will introduce the Senate version of the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Legislation.  The press conference will take place in SVC-201 of the Capitol Visitors Center.
Carol Tobias, president of the National Right to Life Committee, and Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of the Susan B. Anthony List, will join Senator Graham at the press conference.

The U.S. House of Representatives passed the bill on June 18 by a vote of 228-196.  Now the bill moves to the U.S. Senate, and Senator Graham’s introduction of the bill is the first step.

“Tomorrow will be an exciting day for the pro-life movement, as Senator Lindsey Graham begins the process of championing this landmark legislation through the U.S. Senate,” said Susan T. Muskett, J.D., National Right to Life’s senior legislative counsel.  “National Right to Life commends Senator Graham for taking the lead in the Senate on this nationwide protection for pain-capable unborn children, and NRLC pledges our strong support towards marshalling the votes in support of it.”
This is not the first time that Lindsey Graham has taken the lead on pro-life legislation.  He was the original House sponsor of the Unborn Victims of Violence Act in 1999.
