The passage of HR 2410 will now go to the U.S. Senate for a vote. With 59 votes in the Senate, I am sure President Obama can come up with the 60th. The U.S. House, with its vote on 2410 and the defeat of the pro-life amendment introduced by Rep. Chris Smith which would have restricted the offices work on abortion clearly shows a pro-abortion majority in the House.
To add insult to injury, apart from funding the State Department's budget, HR 2410 would pressure other countries to overturn laws that restrict homosexual and transsexual behavior. It would also force our foreign service workers to undergo sensitivity training on the issue of sexual orientation and gender identity.
