America's New Messiah Promises Bloodshed Aplenty

President Barack Obama promised Planned Parenthood that, "The first thing I'd do as president is sign the Freedom of Choice Act" (FOCA). If he keeps this promise, American Right To Life president Brian Rohrbough said, "President Obama will press the reset button on the pro-life movement and reverse decades of legislation, regulations not built on the firm foundation of personhood, but misguided laws built on sand shifting in the political wind."

Executive Acts Expected Quickly

Stem cell study, family planning to be reviewed

In one of his first acts as president, Barack Obama is planning to lift a rule that prevents federal money from going to international family planning groups that counsel women on abortion or perform the procedure. Obama's repeal of the abortion aid policy is one of several executive actions he will take soon after his inauguration on Tuesday, according to several Obama transition aides. He is also considering lifting Bush administration restrictions on federally funded stem cell research.

Aborted Baby Parts To Be Injected Into Patients

British scientists have received permission to treat stroke patients with injections of cells from an aborted baby. In a world first, stem cells from a 12-week-old fetus will be injected into patients' brains. Experts believe the cells will regenerate areas damaged by strokes and restore movement and mental skills.

The Prenatal Extermination of Children With Down Syndrome

Recently I read an article about how scientists are going to use an outer space satellite to monitor the kangaroo rat which is an endangered species. The article states: "It allows us to more quickly recognize whether populations are declining where we want them to exist. "If they go below a threshold, that is when we would consider intervening." I have a beautiful five-year-old daughter Chloe who has Down Syndrome, and she has brought immeasurable good and light into the world. Because of the refining of and increase in prenatal testing children with Down Syndrome are also an endangered species with a 90%+ abortion rate once identified in the womb. Chloe's unique human species could very well become extinct in another generation if attitudes are not changed.

Student Urges Education About Abortion, Pro-Life

It was a celebration of life Sunday night at First Church of the Nazarene as the Knox County Right to Life held its annual prayer service for life. About 50 people gathered despite the falling snow to sing, pray and learn more about the pro-life movement. Each year, the prayer service is host to a speaker who has something to say about being pro-life. This year, John-Paul Deddens, executive director of Students for Life of Illinois, told attendees how he went from just being pro-life to acting pro-life.

Future of Abstinence-Only Funding Is in Limbo

With the exit of the Bush administration, critics of abstinence-only sex education will be making an aggressive push to cut off federal funding for what they consider an ineffective, sometimes harmful program. Obama is considered an advocate of comprehensive sex education, which — unlike abstinence-only curriculum — includes advice to young people about using contraceptives if they do engage in sexual activity.
