Obama's Cabinet

Are you concerned about President Elect Obama's choices for his cabinet? How about his new Education Tsar, from Chicago public school system. He has promoted comprehensive sex education in the public schools, as well as a new proposed homosexual, lesbian and transgendered high school in Chicago. Now our entire health care system is under the Secretary of Health and Human Services, Senator Tom Daschle, no friend to the unborn. Perhaps he will be no friend to the elderly, handicapped and at risk people as well.

Do you think our health care reform will include physician assisted suicide as a means to save money? Do you think health care reform will include rationing?

Ethical Dilemma in Transplant Patients

The Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland Ohio, has performed the first face transplant in our nation's history. A face transplant requires a donor who has been declared brain dead. One leading bioethicist has raised the question on whether the women's doctor should have given her the option of physician assisted suicide, if the surgery winds up making her life worse.

This transplant was the 4th worldwide, but the first in the United States. I think face transplants will become routine as physicians perfect the technique. I wonder what it feels like to look at someone else's face in the mirror and know it's yours now? Do you think this will cause emotional problems? Do you think physician assisted suicide should be a medical option in this transplant?  Unlike operations involving hearts, livers, and kidneys etc., facial transplants are done to improve a quality of life, not extend it. We've become a nation that accepts brain death, for organ transplantation as a gift of life. Are we willing to accept brain death for a face transplant and whatever other transplant may come to improve a quality of life?

Plan B

Do you believe our beleaguered governor has had another set back? Do you believe that the Illinois Supreme Court should have given it to him? Well they did. Today, on December 19, in the midst of his problems, the court held that pharmacists may defend their "right of conscience" against the state's "Emergency Rule", which forced pharmacies to stock and dispense Plan B (The morning after pill), under threat of sanction or loss of licenses.

I think that Plan B is dangerous for women. I think that Plan B is abortifacient. I think it could lead to breast cancer in young women. What do you think?

I believe in a health care "right to conscience." Do you?

HPV Vaccine Paralyses 12-Year-Old Girl

A 12-year-old schoolgirl has been left paralyzed from the waist down by a mystery illness that came on 30 minutes after she was given the new anticervical cancer jab. Ashleigh Cave suffered dizziness and headaches soon after the vaccination at her school and then deteriorated rapidly, collapsing several times over the following days. A week later she was admitted to hospital after losing all strength in her legs and, two months on, there has been no improvement. Her mother Cheryl, 37, from Aintree, Merseyside, is blaming her daughter's condition on the human papillomavirus (HPV) jab, which was introduced in Britain in September as part of a government-funded vaccination program.

Abortion Reduction

Do you think that Governor Rod Blagojevich is interersted, or ever was interested in reducing legalized abortion by seeking common ground? I think Governor Blago is the most ardent abortion proponent to ever occupy a governor's seat, and I can prove it. What do you think?

Calling Doctor Frankenstein

What do you think about Britain, legalizing the creation of human/animal hybrid embryos for medical research? Should the United States follow in Britain's footsteps? Creepy? I think it is. Where do you think it will lead us? Do you think this is the path that will lead to the cure of disease? Or do you think it might create more diseases than it cures?

Therapeutic Nation

Some people say, half of college age people had a "Psychiatric Episode" in the last year. I don't believe that. I think psychiatrists and psychologists are calling many normal human emotions and responses to crisis or challenging episodes in their life as psychiatric episodes. I wonder if they're doing it to increase their clientel? Increase psychiatric drug use, and make our population a Therapeutic Nation, rather than a nation that recognizes there are consequences to behavior, as well as life has it's good times and it's bad times, and emotional reactions to all of these are normal. What do you think?

Why are Catholic Students losing their religion?

A recent Cardinal Newman Society's pole reveals some shocking details, or are they?

46% of current and recent students said they had engaged in sex outside of marriage.
84% said they had friends who engaged in premarital sex.
60% agreed strongly or somewhat that abortion should be legal. One out of 5 students know someone who has had an abortion, or who helped pay for one.
60% agreed strongly or somewhat, that premarital sex is not a sin.
78% disagreed strongly or somewhat, that using a condom to prevent pregnancy was a serious sin.
57% agreed strongly or somewhat, that same-sex "marriage" should be legal.

What are your thoughts on this pole, and what do you think are the reasons for these statistics?

Brain Death, is the Donor really dead, or just dead enough?

Are you aware that the definition of death was changed in the early 70's, from "biological" (the absence of heartbeat and respiration) to "brain death" for the sole purpose of organ donation? This new definition reminded some pro-lifers of the early 70's, when the issue of killing had to be seperated from the abortion procedure in order to be accepted by the public. This was effectively done by framing the issue of abortion with the word "choice". So too, in the brain death debate, the issue of killing was framed by the word "gift". Do you think profoundly injured human beings should have their organs donated on the basis of brain death, even though their hearts are beating? Do you think we are becoming a utilitarian society?

Washington State just cast Initiative 1-1000

Washington State just cast Initiative 1-1000 by a margin of 58%. This initiative gives doctors the authority to prescribe a lethal dose of medications to terminally ill individuals. This makes Washington State the 2nd state in the Union to legalize physician assisted suicide (PAS). Do you think physicians should be able to kill their patients?

Pro Abortion Religious Groups Call to Repeal the Hyde Amendment

In a letter sent by the Religious Coaltion for Reproductive Choice (RCRC), and several RCRC members, Jewish and main line Protestant bodies, including the United Methodist General Board of Church & Society, calls for Obama to support the Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA) which would remove all restrictions on abortions passed by state legislatures. Catholics for Free Choice, another RCRC member also signed on.

RCRC has long lobbied for unrestricted abortion on demand.

Many on the Evangelical and Catholic left promoted Obama's candidacy promising his administration would work to reduce the number of abortions in America. Do you think such advocates should now work to counteract RCRC's campaign?

Please note, President Elect Obama has been asked to quickly enact a series of pro-abortio laws, including federal funding of abortion by RCRC. Do you think tax payers should pay for abortions?
