Music Therapy for PreBorn Babies

Preemie babies receiving music therapy at the same age they could have been aborted

May 28, 2013 (LiveActionNews.org) - Premature infants – who, if in utero, could be legally aborted – are the recipients of a new music therapy designed to engage their sense of hearing at a time when they are so fragile that they often cannot even be held or caressed by their parents. A recent report from the Associated Press suggests that, like all other humans, preemies can be soothed by gentle music, especially when they are serenaded live in their hospital rooms. According to the article:
Recent studies and anecdotal reports suggest the vibrations and soothing rhythms of music, especially performed live in the hospital, might benefit preemies and other sick babies.

In the tumultuous events surrounding a premature birth that sometimes include a struggle to survive, music therapy can reach through the hospital chaos and tense emotions of parents, having a positive effect on the infant. Many insurers won’t cover music therapy for premature infants due to skepticism that the therapy actually affects their medical condition long-term. However, the efficacy of the music for parent-child bonding is well-illustrated by the anecdotes of parents interviewed and observed by the Associated Press. Some parents report that the music helps to nurture the relationship between parent and child, which can be tried by the stress of the less-than-ideal circumstances surrounding the birth of premature babies (for example, premature children can be hooked up to medical equipment 24/7 until they are strong enough to survive on their own, so snuggling and proximal bonding between parents and their babies is more difficult or even dangerous).

According to Lucy Morales, whose premature son received music therapy at his hospital in Chicago, the music relaxed her baby and helped him to sleep. She said it also made her and the baby’s father cry. The music therapist, Elizabeth Klinger, who works for free, reports:
A lot of times families become afraid of interacting with their children because they are so sick and so frail, and music provides them something that they can still do.
Another music therapist, Soozie Cotter-Schaufele, reports that the soothing music can mimic sounds that babies become accustomed to in the womb. This is why, when they are born too soon, the music provides them with solace; in an environment they were not prepared to enter into, the music may bring them back to the comforting sounds they heard when they felt secure in utero.

Unfortunately, premature infants represent a portion of the population who are very fortunate to be alive – not due to a lack of modern technology to preserve their lives after birth, but because the threat of being aborted at any time prior to their full-term delivery is a stark reality in the United States. In Live Action’s Inhuman investigation, notorious late-term abortionist LeRoy Carhart admits that children delivered as early as 26 weeks have a 50/50 chance of survival, and yet he states that he had already seen four women the week he was interviewed who were past 26 weeks’ gestation and seeking late-term abortions. These are infants who, if they had been born prematurely, could have received outstanding medical care and music therapy. But because of legalized late-term abortion in the United States, they were never born at all.
Music therapy, therefore, simultaneously showcases the magnificent humanity of premature babies and the tragedy of taking their lives before they have the chance to enjoy music and everything else life outside the womb has to offer.

Lies and More Lies

Republicans block abortion funding for illegal immigrants; Planned Parenthood lies

May 28, 2013 (FRC) - Liberals are more than happy to welcome illegal immigrants to America--it's their unborn children they object to. Last week, Democrats tried to defend taxpayer-funded abortion as part of the long list of "perks" that detainees enjoy in Homeland Security's federal detention centers.

The issue boiled over last spring when the office of Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) tried to slip new guidelines past Congress that would have extended a host of benefits to illegal aliens that rival the average citizens'! And these aren't your garden variety detainees. Most of the immigrants in ICE's care are convicted criminals who were transferred out of prison, where they were serving time for other charges. Even so, the Left has fought to give these detainees the best care that (taxpayers') money can offer. Before FRC drew attention to the issue last March, ICE was even prepared to offer government-sponsored hormone therapy for transgenders!

Now, the same Homeland Security that claims it doesn't have enough money for detention beds is ready to finance abortions. As Rep. Hal Rodgers (R-Ky.) pointed out, "These are grim budget times. We don't have carte blanche for even our most important security programs." All the more reason, says Rep. John Carter (R-Texas), to put the brakes on ICE's abortion funding. Last Wednesday, Congressman Carter, Chairman of the Homeland Security Appropriations Subcommittee, introduced language to stop the agency's $46 billion funding bill from getting bogged down with the President's radical social policy.

Under the Carter amendment, co-sponsored by our friends Reps. Robert Aderholt (R-Ala.) and Rep. Alan Nunnelee, (R-Miss.), Homeland Security would be barred from spending a single cent of government funding on abortion. The Committee passed a similar rider last year, but--like most appropriations measures--the abortion ban didn't carry over from the 2013 funding bill. A day after Rep. Carter offered the amendment, it passed: 25-21. Now it heads to the House floor--along with the rest of the 92-page budget. "I will always support and remain committed to preserving the sanctity of life," Carter vowed, "and as a committed member of the Pro-Life Caucus, I will continue to defend human life at all stages. The provision in this amendment will continue to ensure that federal taxpayer dollars will not fund abortion."

Meanwhile, Planned Parenthood, who never met an abortion debate it didn't like to distort, criticized the bill for denying access to immigrant abortions. In a press release, the country's biggest abortion cartel intentionally mischaracterized Carter's amendment, claiming that it "prevents immigrant women... from making extremely personal, medical decisions."

False. It only prevents taxpayers from funding those decisions. Women in ICE's custody are not only free to abort at outside clinics--they're assigned government "escorts" for the trip. All House leaders have done is bring Homeland Security in line with the other federal appropriations provisions that block taxpayer dollars for abortion. So it's more than a little ironic when Planned Parenthood complains, "Abortion has no business being debated as a part of a Homeland Security funding bill." We agree! In fact, abortion has no business being debated as part of any government funding bill. That's why FRC supports the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act (H.R. 7 and S. 946), just introduced by Rep. Chris Smith and Sen. Roger Wicker. And if Planned Parenthood were sincere about women's health, they'd join us.

Gosnell had hypnotic 'Svengali control' over staff: Defense attorney

PHILADELPHIA, May 28, 2013 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Kermit Gosnell exercised a hypnotic, “Svengali control” over his employees, according to defense attorney Michael Wallace.
Wallace represents one of three women to be sentenced in Philadelphia tomorrow for their role in killing newborn babies, overdosing an abortion patient, or other abortion-related offenses.
Sherry West
Sherry West

Prosecutors are expected to ask for mercy for Sherry West, Lynda Williams, and Adrienne Moton, former workers at the Women's Medical Society who struck a plea bargain and testified against Gosnell in return for lighter sentences.

Lynda Williams said Gosnell had been treating her for bipolar disorder and other mental health issues before she went to work for him. She previously worked in his abortion facility in Wilmington, Delaware – a business Pennsylvania authorities are urging be investigated. In 2007, after her husband's murder, she worked in the Philadelphia office.

Sherry West also began working for Gosnell in 2007 after having a nervous breakdown.
Moton, meanwhile, had undergone two abortions at Gosnell's facility.
“Mental illness plagued Gosnell employees,” said Cheryl Sullenger, who attended the Gosnell trial on behalf of Operation Rescue. “Another clinic worker, Elizabeth Hampton, previously testified she suffered from depression and anxiety.”
Williams, who has only a ninth grade education, says she did not know the procedure Gosnell taught her to perform – snipping babies' spinal columns with scissors after delivery – was murder.
Lynda Williams
Lynda Williams

She admitted to killing two newborns as Gosnell taught her, as well as being present when Mongar died. She entered a guilty plea to two counts of third-degree murder in 2011, as well as other charges.
Without the plea bargain – like Gosnell – she may have faced the death penalty.
Each of the three could face more than 100 years in prison for the crimes they have admitted. But Wallace said he hopes his client's testimony, pivotal to exposing Gosnell's gruesome practices, means West will receive probation.

Sherry West testified that one baby Gosnell “aborted” was born alive and began “screeching, making this noise” that “sounded like a little alien.” It “really freaked me out.”
West testified that Gosnell asked the unqualified employee who administered the fatal dose of medication to 41-year-old immigrant Karnamaya Mongar to lie and say that Gosnell was responsible for the death, and that he regularly changed medical records.
West told prosecutors that she was trained by Gosnell to administer medication and insert IVs by other employees, including teenagers. She could not pronounce the name of a that medication she administered.

West plead guilty to third-degree murder in October 2011, as well as to delivering drugs that resulted in death, conspiracy, and participating in a corrupt organization.
Adrienne Moton
Adrienne Moton

The remaining defendants played an important role in convicting Gosnell on three first-degree murder charges.
Moton's testimony helped convict Gosnell in the case of “Baby A,” after she testified that the doctor joked the baby was so big it could “walk me to the bus stop.” It was Moton who took a photograph of “Baby A” on her cell phone after assisting in its “demise.”
Moton, who confessed to killing 10 babies using Gosnell's method, also testified that “Baby D” was born alive in a toilet and struggled to swim away, testimony confirmed by former employee Kareema Cross.

Ultimately, a mostly “pro-choice” jury convicted Gosnell of murdering Baby A, C, and D.
The jurors also found Gosnell's assistant Eileen O'Neill guilty of presenting herself – and billing patients – as though she were a physician. The Gosnell jury convicted her of conspiracy, participation in a corrupt organization, and two counts of theft by deception. She has remained under house arrest pending sentencing.

Wednesday's sentencings underscore the peril of working at an abortion facility in any capacity, a danger pro-life ministries have sought to drive home.

Operation Rescue has mailed a postcard to abortion offices telling lower level workers like West and company, “Don't go to jail for something your employer is doing or told you to do!”
Mark Crutcher, of Life Dynamics, who is presently involved in a similar case involving the former employees of Texas late-term abortionist Dr. Douglas Karpen, said employees in the abortion industry “are starting to panic.”

“I know you're going to see more and more of these people coming forward and...say, 'I'm not interested in going to prison.'”

Bodies of Gosnell’s victims thrown into landfill: investigation

PHILADELPHIA, Pa., May 28, 2013 (LifeSiteNews.com) - A group of pro-life activists is calling for a government investigation into the disposal of babies killed by convicted abortionist Kermit Gosnell in light of new evidence that they say indicates that the medical waste giant Stericycle unlawfully dumped their bodies into a municipal landfill.
The Campaign to Stop Stericycle (CSS) has exposed Stericycle's relationship with abortion clinics, including Gosnell's, across the country. In 2011 they successfuly convinced the truck leasing company Ryder to stop providing trucks for Stericyle.
The numerous packages of aborted babies discovered in one of Gosnell's freezers

Grand Jury documents had pointed to Stericycle as assisting Gosnell with the disposal of the aborted babies. The Presentment outlined that staff were assigned the task of preparing the boxes for the company's arrival. The document explained: "James Johnson, who worked for Gosnell since 2001, testified that his duties included collecting the red biohazard bags of fetal remains and putting them in boxes for pickup by an outside firm, Stericycle." (Page 32)
CSS says that during an undercover investigation in 2010, it discovered that human body parts that are collected by Stericycle in Pennsylvania are hauled to the company's plant in North Carolina (the Stericycle incinerator used for much of the medical waste on the East Coast) to be burned with tons of medical garbage.

"You'll get stickers marked for incinerate only. The waste will be incinerated," explained Stericycle sales representative Mara Villalobos. "It will be incinerated, so it will be hauled over to Haw River, [North Carolina]."

However, after requesting that the North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources (NCDENR) investigate what it said was Stericycle's lawful incineration of late-term and newborn babies killed by Gosnell,CSS discovered that the bodies of the children never made it to the incineration plant. Instead, according to documentation, the boxes were mislabeled and sent to Stericycle's chemclave plant in Morgantown, Pennsylvania. Chemclave is a sterilization process involving alcohols, ketones, formaldehyde and water.
After the babies were treated in this chemical solution, they were hauled to an area landfill and buried with the trash, which is illegal in Pennsylvania.

Records also show that Stericycle assisted Gosnell with his disposal needs on a weekly basis, at times collecting a large number of boxes. Documents show that on December 22, 2008, the company hauled 26 boxes from the facility, weighing 290 pounds. On July 13, 2009, the company detailed hauling away 23 boxes, weighing 264.90 pounds. Even when just a few boxes were collected, single boxes would at times weigh over 20 pounds.

The Grand Jury Presentment outlined that James Johnson, who packaged the remains, "told [investigators] that in the last two years, Gosnell did not always pay his Stericycle bills." Since Stericycle would not collect the abortion "waste" until payment was received, the fetal remains were packed into freezers until Stericycle resumed its cooperation. Records show that Gosnell owed the company over $10,000 at the time of the police raid, which is why investigators were able to find the evidence of his heinous crimes, which would have otherwise been destroyed.

"If Gosnell had kept paying his Stericycle bills, who knows what evidence would have been left to convict him," campaign director Michael Marcavage stated. "Stericycle was willing to dispose of Gosnell's so-called 'waste' for as long as they were profiting from the abortionist."

Marcavage decried the fact that the bodies of Gosnell's victims actually ended up in a landfill.
"Matters turned out to be even worse than we thought as the company failed to follow its internal protocol," Marcavage said. "It is beyond sickening to think that the bodies of potentially hundreds of children are buried with the trash in a Pennsylvania landfill. Whether burned in an incinerator or dumped in a landfill, Stericycle must be held responsible for its collaboration with Gosnell and its improper handling of human remains."

In 2011, Stericycle was fined over $42,000 for an identical situation in Texas, where the company was found to be illegally dumping aborted babies into a municipal landfill in Austin with household and commercial garbage. The Texas Commission of Environmental Quality (TCEQ) found Stericycle liable for "failure to prevent the disposal of treated fetuses at a municipal solid waste landfill" and "failure to comply with permit conditions."
Following the revelations in Pennsylvania, CSS sent a letter to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection to request a formal investigation. Governor Tom Corbett, Representative Matthew Baker, Chair of the House Health Committee and the Pennsylvania State Police were also among the recipients.

"Once again, the sins of Stericycle have found them out," Marcavage stated. "While the trial largely focused on the acts of the abortionist, Stericycle played a huge role in the disposal of Gosnell's victims, and for that, they must be exposed."

"Who knows how many of Gosnell's victims lay dead in the trash, or how many more would have met their fate in the same landfill should Gosnell have kept paying his Stericycle bills," he continued. "Without Stericycle, and companies like it, the abortion industry would collapse."

Korean pastor fighting epidemic of abandoned babies with anonymous ‘Baby Box’

May 28, 2013 (Bound4Life) - Lee Jong-rak is a Korean pastor in South Korea. A simple man with a huge purpose, Pastor Jong-rak saw a devastating problem. He thought of a way he could change it, and he became a prophetic voice to his society. His story is a story of faith. A story of hope. A story of love. And when you hear this heroic tale, you just may never be the same.
Lee Jong-rak is the creator of the Baby Box. His Baby Box is the first and only box in Korea that is for collecting abandoned babies who are physically or mentally handicapped or are just unwanted by their mothers.

Hundreds of unwanted babies are abandoned on the side of the street in South Korea every year. Jong-rak knew he needed to set up a way to save the lives of these precious babies.  He built a drop box on the side of his home with a humble sign reading, “Place to leave babies.”

The inside of the box contains a thick towel covering the bottom, and lights and heating to keep the baby comfortable.  A bell rings when someone puts a baby in the box, then Jong-rak, his wife, or staff associates come to immediately move the baby inside. His aim was to provide a life-giving alternative for desperate mothers in his city of Seoul. He even admits that he didn’t really expect that babies would come in– He was mistaken. The babies came. In the middle of the night, in the middle of the day, some with notes, some without a word, and only a very few mothers actually spoke to him face-to-face.

Pastor Jong-rak stated that one of the mothers said she “had poison to kill both herself and her baby.” He responded, “Don’t do that. Come here with your baby.” One single mother left this heart-wrenching note with her baby. The english translation follows.
“My baby! Mom is so sorry.
I am so sorry to make this decision.
My son! I hope you to meet great parents, and I am very, very sorry .
I don’t deserve to say a word.
Sorry, sorry, and I love you my son.
Mom loves you more than anything else.
I leave you here because I don’t know who your father is.
I used to think about something bad, but I guess this box is safer for you.
That’s why I decided to leave you here. My son, Please forgive me.”
My breath was pulled from me as I read, “I used to think about something bad but I guess this box is safer for you.” Yes, this little box is a safer place than the plans that once haunted this single mother’s mind. Because this box was an alternative, she chose life. Thus, this box would be the beginning of an previously undreamed ministry in Korea, the ministry of the Baby Box.
The story of this man and his baby box is reaching the entire world with it’s own 72-minute documentary called “The Drop Box” by a young 22 year old, Brian Ivie. The documentary just won the “Best of Festival” Jubilee Award & “The Best Sanctity of Life” film award at the 8th annual San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival this past February.

Ivie was stirred to do the film after reading an article in the LA Times about Pastor Jong-rak’s mission, and he decided to go to Korea to make the documentary. After seeing the testimonies of this orphanage up close, Brian Ivie’s life was changed. In his acceptance speech, Ivie said, “These kids are not mistakes. They are important.” He went on saying, “I became a Christian while making this movie. When I started to make it and I saw all these kids come through the drop box – it was like a flash from heaven, just like these kids with disabilities had crooked bodies, I have a crooked soul. And God loves me still. When it comes to this sanctity of life issue, we must realize that that faith in God is the only refuge for people who are deemed unnecessary. This world is so much about self-reliance, self-worth, and self-esteem. It’s a total illusion that we can be self-sufficient. Christ is the only thing that enables us.”

The documentary that changed Brian Ivie’s life is bound to change the lives of the film’s audience. They are currently in the middle of negotiations with a major studio to release the film all over the world this fall. For now, they are asking people to join their mailing list (dropboxmovement@gmail.com) and join their page on Facebook from the link on their website www.dropbox-movie.com.

As I scrolled through the stories on Facebook, I was overwhelmed to see a post dated as April 17th where one of the staff members of the Baby Box orphanage stated that they had received 5 babies in one week and to pray for them. There beside her request was a picture of five beautifully bundled babies. In my head, all I could think was, “This is the real thing. This ministry is the real thing.”

Korea is not the only place that deals with child abandonment. Globally, millions of children die from abandonment. It takes different forms from country to country. In the United States, abortion serves our abandonment purposes and they call it a “woman’s choice.” Our nation is still struggling to see that these babies are human beings, too. They deserve to live just like any other human being. With incredible men and women like Pastor Lee Jong-rak, this world is seeing how life can be for these babies when we take them in; when we become a voice for the ones that cannot speak up for themselves. They are loved, they are cherished, and they are worthy just the way they are.
“They’re not the unnecessary ones in the world. God sent them to the earth to use them.”
-Pastor Lee Jong-rak, The Drop Box documentary

Gosnell worker who put aborted baby remains down garbage disposal sentenced to probation

Philadelphia, PA, May 28, 2013 (OperationRescue.org) – Elizabeth Hampton, who worked for convicted murder Kermit Gosnell and testified against him, was sentenced to probation today after pleading for mercy from the court.

Hampton had been charged with perjury for fabricating a story she told to the FBI and the Grand Jury to cover up the truth behind the death of Karnamaya Mongar, who was drugged to death by Hampton’s unqualified, untrained co-workers.

Elizabeth Hampton

Hampton described herself as the “sister-in-law” to Gosnell. She and Gosnell’s wife, Pearl, were raised in the same foster family. Hampton testified that she had a history of alcoholism and mental health issues when she first went to work for Gosnell. She tried to leave, but returned out of a “sense of obligation” after being pressured by Pearl.

Her co-worker, Steven Massof, testified that one of Hampton’s duties at the Gosnell clinic was to hold down women who were “uncooperative” during abortions. Hampton admitted that she put the contents of the suction machine that held aborted baby parts down the garbage disposal, which is illegal in Pennsylvania and testified to the filthy conditions at what has become known as the “House of Horrors.”

Judge Benjamin Lerner indicated that he appreciated Hampton pleading guilty and testifying against Gosnell, who was convicted of three counts of first degree murder of “snipping” the spinal cords of babies born alive during illegal late-term abortions. He was also convicted of involuntary manslaughter in the death of Mongar and hundreds of other crimes related to his shoddy abortion business that targeted poor urban women of color.
Judge Lerner referred to Gosnell as a “charismatic sociopath,” according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. Hampton told the judge she feared him.

Hampton and her common law husband, Jimmy Johnson, another former Gosnell employee who was not charged, continue to live rent free on a house still owned by Gosnell.
Johnson testified about his job removing dead fetuses from the procedure rooms and having to clean out drains clogged with the remains of aborted babies that were routinely flushed into the sewer system.

“I don’t have much sympathy for Ms. Hampton. She seemed more sorry for herself than for the Ms. Mongar, the Mongar family, or the newborn babies that were murdered while she stood by,” said Cheryl Sullenger, who attended much of the trial. “She’s getting an undeserved second chance in life and I hope that she can find true repentance and an amended life.”

Six other former Gosnell employees are set to be sentenced on Wednesday, according to court records, including Gosnell’s wife, Pearl, who pled guilty to abortion on an unborn child of 24 weeks or more, two counts of conspiracy, and engaging in a corrupt organization. She was known to assist her husband in very late abortions done secretly on Sundays when the clinic was generally closed. She did not testify against her husband.

Below is a summary of the remaining Gosenell workers’ roles and the charges to which they pled guilty and for which they await sentencing:

Adrienne Moton was the first employee to testify against Gosnell. She is set for sentencing along with Pearl Gosnell on Wednesday. She was an unlicensed worker with no medical background. She administered anesthesia and assisted with abortion procedures. She took the now familiar picture of Baby A with her cell phone, showing a large baby crammed into a plastic shoe box. She remains incarcerated in the county jail.
Moton pled guilty to Murder in 3rd Degree of Baby D, who was delivered into a toilet and was seen struggling to get out of the bowl. Moton cut the child’s neck in front of the mother. She also pled to conspiracy to commit murder and engaging in a corrupt organization.

Lynda Williams is an unlicensed worker who committed illegal abortions and administered anesthesia, among other violations. She dropped out in 6th grade and was being treated for bi-polar disorder and depression when Gosnell hired her. She remains incarcerated in county jail where she has undergone mental health evaluations.
Williams pled guilty to two counts of third degree murder in the deaths of Baby C, whose neck she snipped after the baby was seen breathing for 20 minutes, and Karnamaya Mongar, who she helped overdose to death. She also pled guilty to drug delivery resulting in death, participating in a corrupt organization, and conspiracy. During her testimony in the Gosnell trial, she indicated that in killing Baby C, she was simply doing as she was told.

Steven Massof was an unlicensed medical school graduate who worked as an abortionist at Gosnell’s clinic for $300-400 per week. He expressed a curiosity about abortion and seemed to take ghoulish delight in relating the horrific events that took place at Gosnell’s abortion clinic. He admitted to having murdered about 100 babies and described coping with the chaos at Gosnell’s clinic as akin to being a “fireman in hell” where it would “rain fetuses and blood.” He is currently incarcerated in federal prison, having pled guilty to 30 federal drug charges related to his work with Gosnell.
Massof pled guilty to two counts of third degree murder for the deaths of Baby F and Baby G, conspiracy to murder, participation in a corrupt organization, and conspiracy to violate laws related to corrupt organizations. He will be sentenced first on the state charges and separately on the federal charges.

Sherry West was an unlicensed worker who has an admitted history of unspecified mental health disorders. She committed illegal abortions, administered anesthesia, and dispensed drugs illegally. She and Lynda Williams teamed up to dispense drugs with disregard to any charts or orders. West denied having done anything wrong when she testified against Gosnell, even though she admitted to watching one newborn baby “screech like an alien” after having been born alive, prior to being murdered.
West pled guilty to third degree murder in the overdose death of Karnamaya Mongar, drug delivery resulting in death, participation in a corrupt organization, and two counts of conspiracy.

Tina Baldwin was an unlicensed worker who illegally administered anesthesia and performed other medical duties that it was illegal for her to do. She allowed her 15 year old daughter, Ashley, to work as a staff member at Gosnell’s mill. Of this the grand jury report said, “She was required to work 50-hour weeks, starting after school until past midnight, during which she was exposed to the full horrors of Gosnell’s practice. Bad enough that he expected grown-ups to do it.”
Baldwin pled guilty to engaging in a corrupt organizations and conspiracy and corruption of a minor.

Several people offer to adopt baby rescued from sewage pipe; mom found

May 28, 2013 (LifeSiteNews.com) – A newborn baby in China whose dramatic rescue from a filthy sewage pipe has elicited an outpouring of sympathy and outrage from across the globe is in stable condition and improving, according to nurses at the hospital where he is being treated.

The baby was admitted to the hospital in critical condition with a suspected fracture in the top of his skull after spending at least several hours wedged in a sewage pipe leading from a public toilet in the city of Jinhua in the Chinese province of Zhajiang.
Firefighters responded to a call from a building resident who reported hearing a baby crying in the toilet on the fourth floor.
A nurse told the Daily Mail that the mother of the child has been found.

“She is right now in the hospital,” said the nurse. “I heard she is a 22 year-old single woman. I don't know the reason she abandoned the baby.”

The nurse also said that numerous individuals have stepped forward to donate diapers, formula, and other necessities to help care for the child. Some have offered to adopt the child.
Video of the dramatic rescue shows firefighters sawing and removing the section of pipe in which the baby was wedged. This section of pipe was then sent to a nearby hospital, where  workers removed the pipe piece by piece.

The infant was still attached to the placenta.
Police are reportedly investigating.
Cases of newborn infants being abandoned are not unheard of in China. In fact, Jinhua is the same city where one Chinese woman rescued 30 babies who were abandoned in the trash. Despite her meager living recycling trash, Lou Xiaoying brought home and cared for all the abandoned infants she came across.

Under China’s one-child policy parents must obtain a pregnancy permit or face severe penalties, and it is estimated that some 35,000 abortions are committed per day in the country - many of them forced. Investigations have revealed that human rights abuses under the policy are rampant, with family planning police often dealing with “illegal pregnancies” through forced abortions and infanticide.

Last year, outrage shook the Internet when it was revealed a premature baby girl in Anshan city, Liaoning province, had been thrown in the trash with umbilical cord still attached, in a plastic bag with her throat cut. Doctors said she would have died of suffocation within minutes, and had the cut been any deeper, it would certainly have taken the baby girl’s life.

Franch Oppose Redefinition of Marriage by Millions

Pro-marriage revolution building in France: up to 1 million march

Analysis
May 28, 2013 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The French have done it again. Two weeks after same-sex “marriage” became legal, the odds seemed against a major turnout for the latest national demonstration against the new law. And the minister of the Interior, Manuel Valls, certainly did his best to discourage would-be participants from joining the march: all day Saturday, he sent out alarming messages on television and on the radio warning that in view of expected violence families with children would do best to stay at home.

But on Sunday, organizers estimated that up to a million people marched from three different points in Paris towards the Invalides, including large numbers of young people and families with children and babies in push-cars. One mother answering the press said she had originally intended to come without her kids – Valls’ intimidation tactics encouraged her to bring them along.
The estimate given by organizers is more than six times the number given out by the ministry of the Interior. However, having walked in the dense crowds from the Austerlitz station to Invalides and seen photos and films of the other two walks, a million seems more plausible than the “150,000” noted by the police – and Valls has proved over recent months that minimizing participation statistics by any means is a specialty of his administration. Not to mention hampering and hindrances of all kinds: the number of regional trains coming in from the western suburbs where many more conservative families live was unexplainably halved on Sunday without notice, and specially hired coaches coming in from the north of Paris were stopped for customs controls.

The spirit of the marches was grave and determined, but as always largely peaceful. Less than two weeks previous, riots broke out in Paris when fans of the Paris Saint-Germain soccer club were to celebrate the clubs victory in the national football league: hundreds of ethnic youths from the suburbs came to join (and ruin) the party, burning cars, smashing shop windows and placing the more luxurious parts of Paris in a state of siege. The riots only gave rise to 21 arrests and the government was heavily criticized for not having handled the crisis adequately – the police was even called away when the “disturbances” began. Manuel Valls capitalized on those incidents by announcing that on May 26th, when the “well-behaved French” who pay their taxes and leave demonstration venues impeccably unscathed came for their rally, he would deploy 4,500 law enforcement officers to prevent the “violence” he was expecting - not to say hoping for.

Frigide Barjot, the “Manif pour tous’” figurehead, added oil on the fire by announcing that she would not join the march as planned because of threats to her person and foreseeable “extreme right-wing” violence.

She was to say later, commenting on the demonstration for private TV station BFM-TV, that she had been more or less put aside by the Manif’s organization because of her favorable stance on “civil unions,” which she has been touting from the start as the only possible alternative to same-sex “marriage”. Increasing popular irritation against what has been seen as a hijack of demonstrators’ motives already lead to Barjot’s being booed and whistled at in Lyons three weeks ago at a regional “Manif pour tous” (“demonstration for all”). Barjot has also announced that “marriage” having been given as a “right” to “human people” there can be no question of asking for the law to be repealed: her objective is now only to modify filiation laws so that homosexuals cannot adopt. The fight over the gay ‘marriage’ law is over, she said, instead pleading for political pressure on mayors in view of future municipal elections in order to preserve biological filiation in as many cases as possible.
It seems these intricacies left Sunday’s demonstrators cold; their main slogan was and still is: “Hollande, we want nothing of your law.”
As for the violence promised by Manuel Valls, it was mostly police brutality, once again. On the eve of the demonstration, a group of young people held a surprise sit-in on the Champs-Elysées, chaining themselves to crowd barriers. The demonstrators, not older than 20 or 25, were manhandled by the police, arrested and taken into custody. One young man, who has by now been taken into custody eleven times over various – always non-violent – actions against the marriage law, only received notification of his custody after being held over three hours; and he was only provided with a lawyer 15 hours after his arrest instead of one as the law requires. On his release on Sunday evening, he immediately joined the demonstration at the Invalides.
Many of the arrests on Saturday were simply for wearing sweatshirts with the “Manif pour tous’” official logo.

On Sunday, after the end of the “Manif pour tous”, dozens of “Veilleurs” (“watchers” or “wakers”) gathered behind the Invalides with small candles to read poetry and sing their theme song titled “Hope”, L’Espérance, which also marked the end of the official demonstration amid hushed silence on the part of the thousands who were still present. They were to be dispersed by the police at 5 o’clock on Monday morning, only to be replaced by a new group who in their turn were disbanded by the armed forces. They are planning to meet again on Monday evening.

On the other side of the Invalides - the immense esplanade that had been completely filled by the “Manif pour tous” - many demonstrators decided to stay on. Apart from a few radical groups, 95 % of those present were absolutely non-violent. They were gradually cornered by riot police and gassed – as usual. Many were arrested and beaten, including a 14 year-old boy. One witness – author and historian Reynal Secher, specialist of the history of the French Revolution and the genocide of the Vendée – told LifeSite he was harshly instructed to leave the sidewalk where he was peacefully walking. He refused, politely, saying he had every right to be there. A riot police pushed him and made him fall in the street using his shield.

The same Reynald Secher said he personally witnessed five plain-clothes police agents trying to incite the young people around them to use violent behavior. Their appearance being easily identifiable, the crowd immediately accused them of being provocateurs on the part of Manuel Valls and told them to put on their official police arm-bands or to leave. They chose to leave – fast. Several pictures and videos of previous demonstrations show this type of agent heating up the crowd and then running off behind the riot police wearing a police band on their upper arm.
In total 350 demonstrators were arrested and 250 taken into custody. The overwhelming majority are sober, law-abiding young people who came up to Paris with friends, sometimes with their parish or their parents.

Since the beginning of the anti-same-sex “marriage” demonstrations, the number of these arrests has been growing and several victims have opened lawsuits against the police for “wrongful arrest.”
To all appearances, the fight against legalized same-sex “marriage” is not going to stop with Sunday’s major demonstration. At the rally, Christian trade’s union CFTC vice-president Joseph Thouvenel called on the French to “enter into resistance” against the unjust laws on life, marriage, children and the family which are being implemented or prepared by the socialist government. Among these are euthanasia laws, attacks against child benefits and maternity leave, compulsory teaching of gender ideology in kindergarten, and free abortion for all – legal abortion is 100 % paid for by State insurance since Easter.
He asked the crowd to be inspired by the example of Solidarity – Solidarnosc – who shook off communist tyranny in Poland.

The “Manif pour tous’” new president, Ludovine de la Rochère, also spoke clearly and well. “You have found the energy you needed yesterday and today to stand up and fight. And you will continue to stand up tomorrow! … We do not want lies to form the very substance of the lives of the children of this country, we do not want gender ideology to triumph,” she said. “We are not running after a pseudo ‘sense of history’, we are writing History! Yes, we are building the future and that is why we are demonstrating. We want a better world, not a brave new world… Our demonstrations have been totally respectful of the laws of the republic; they have reacted as the apparatchiks of a totalitarian State – and I am not speaking lightly.”
France is standing up – and the government of François Hollande is more and more uneasy, over-reactive and openly biased.

The first “same-sex marriage” is to take place on Wednesday in the southern town of Montpellier. Several hundred guests, some 130 reporters and many political figureheads are expected to attend. The “happy couple” has been requested not to show itself in public as they were planning, dozens of riot police will protect the town hall where the “marriage” is to be registered and François Hollande in person has warned that he will tolerate no opposition.
In fact, tension is growing and even a mainstream daily splashed these words on its title page with a picture of Sunday’s rally: “France torn in two.”

Congressman: Stop Gosnell by putting ‘a Planned Parenthood clinic in every neighborhood’

WAHINGTON, D.C., May 24, 2013 (LifeSiteNews.com) – A Democratic congressman has a unique solution for the atrocities perpetrated by late-term abortionists who botch their delivery in utero: Build more abortion facilities.

CNSNews.com reported that New York Congressman Jarrold Nadler said, “Dr. Gosnell represented the poor quality of health care services available in poorer communities” during a hearing on Trent Franks' 20-week “fetal pain” bill on Thursday before the House Judiciary Subcommittee .

“If that means funding a Planned Parenthood clinic in every neighborhood to put guys like Gosnell out of business, so be it,” said Nadler while discussing the bill, which would end abortions beyond 20 weeks on the grounds that the babies could feel pain by that point.
Nadler, who has a 100 percent voting record with NARAL Pro-Choice America, did not explain how funding the nation's most prolific abortion provider would reduce the number of grisly cases of infanticide or elevate the treatment women receive.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reported that Gosnell's former patients would sometimes go to Planned Parenthood after visiting the Women's Medical Society, and "would complain to staff about the conditions there.” There is no record that Planned Parenthood turned their fellow abortionist in to the authorities.

Two employees of a Wilmington, Delaware, Planned Parenthood described the unsanitary conditions, where employees engaged in a “meat-market style of assembly-line abortions.”
Tanya Reaves, 24, died last July 20 after the treament she received in the Loop Health Center Planned Parenthood in Chicago. The autopsy concluded the abortionist perforated her uterus, then allowed her to hemorrhage for five-and-a-half hours before dropping her off at a hospital – and not telling the medical personnel about the perforation. A complaint filed in Februaty with the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation by Thomas Brejcha, president of the Thomas More Society in Chicago, on behalf of his client, the Pro-Life Action League, said Planned Parenthood's actions constituted the “abanonment of a patient.”

In a less publicized case, Ayanna Byer, 40, sued Planned Parenthood in Colorado Springs, where she says employees forced her to undergo an abortion against her will, without anesthesia, and which left part of her aborted baby inside her. Her case was filed by the Alliance Defending Freedom.
Nadler's dismissive comments followed similar denials in the Senate, where Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-CA, likened Dr. Gosnell's “house of horrors” to a dirty dentist's office. "Whatever the setting is – if it's a reproductive health care clinic, if it's a dentist, if it's any type of doctor – any kind of clinic, where there are willful violations of the law and violations of human dignity and violations of standard of care, we should call them out," she said.
Nadler called the bill “just another battle of the Republican war on women.”

No charges against Carhart in extremely late-term abortion death of kindergarten teacher

MAYLAND, May 27, 2013 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The Maryland Department of Health announced Friday that it had found “no deficiencies” in late-term abortionist Leroy Carhart’s treatment of deceased abortion client Jennifer Morbelli. The decision by the Department of Health comes days after Maryland police announced that they also would not be bringing criminal charges against Carhart.

Twenty-nine-year-old Morbelli, a kindergarten teacher, died in February after an extremely late-term abortion at Carhart’s Germantown facility.
The notorious abortionist, whose late-term abortion business was hounded out of Nebraska, with that state’s attorney general labeling him “one sick individual,” performed a four-day abortion on Jennifer Morbelli at 33-weeks gestation. Witnesses said Morbelli appeared progressively “weak and pale” each day. Despite her distress, after the abortion was complete, Carhart reportedly caught a flight out of Maryland – and out of contact.

Just hours later, Morbelli’s condition worsened. Attempts by the family to contact Carhart, as instructed in the event of an emergency, were futile. Morbelli was finally taken to a local hospital where attempts by staff to reach Carhart and the Germantown clinic where he works also reportedly failed.

In February, the medical examiner ruled that complications from the abortion were responsible for Morbelli’s death.
The pro-life group Operation Rescue had asked the Maryland Attorney General and the Montgomery County State Attorney’s office to file second degree murder charges against Carhart.
Troy Newman, president of Operation Rescue, asked that the charges be brought under the state’s “depraved heart murder” doctrine that allows for second degree murder charges when a person engages in conduct that shows a reckless disregard for human life, even if resulting harm is unintentional.

According to Operation Rescue, Carhart’s inaccessibility resulted in a break in the continuity of patient care and led to a delay in appropriate treatment as hospital physicians struggled to understand Morbelli’s condition.
The pro-life group also filed a formal complaint on February 19, seeking license revocation for Carhart.
But while Carhart has been cleared by authorites of wrongdoing in Morbelli’s death, inspectors were less impressed when they recently investigated his clinic for compliance with the state’s new abortion clinic regulations.

In a report made public last week, health officials said that the deficiencies found at the Germantown Reproductive Health Services clinic, while not directly linked to Morbelli's death, were sufficiently serious to warrant a "Notice of Current Deficiencies" with a demand for a "Plan of Correction."
The deficiencies ranged from lapses in providing information about the professional credentials of clinic physicians to a lack of procedural policies for emergencies if patients had to be transferred to a hospital.

The report states that nursing staff at Germantown were not properly trained to give sedation medication, that the clinic had not properly verified the medical director’s credentials, that one nurse’s license had expired in January of 2012, that staff were filling syringes multiple times from vials of medicine intended for one-time use, and leaving some filled syringes with no identification as to what they contained.

Investigators found that staff failed to pre-clean dirty surgical instruments properly using an enzymatic cleaner, but instead washed them with bleach, water and dish soap, before sterilization.
Investigators also found that none of the 10 patient clinical records that were reviewed during the inspection included a discharge diagnosis.
Germantown's Plan of Correction states that the clinic administration believes most of the "deficiencies" identified by the State inspectors "had no negative impact on patients."
