Texas Has A Gosnell

“Texas Gosnell” sued for nearly killing woman in abortion as new details revealed

One week after the Texas Medical Board dismissed a complaint against the infamous Houston abortionist Douglas Karpen due to “insufficient evidence,” Karpen committed a wildly botched abortion on Melanie Mendoza. The event occurred a year ago, but new legal documents have come to light revealing new facts about the case.
Thanks in part to the testimony of three of his former employees to Operation Rescue last year, America finally came to see Douglas Karpen as the “Texas Gosnell” that he is. Karpen is accused of routinely murdering babies born alive after his unsuccessful abortions, often very large babies whose abortions are committed much later in the pregnancy than is allowed by state law. Photo documentation evidences this claim (viewer discretion is advised).

Last week, the new information that came to the fore about Mendoza’s case further solidified the doctor’s foul reputation. The victim plaintiff in his case, Melanie Mendoza, suffered a ruptured uterus at his hands. Melanie was forced to seek emergency treatment the day after her procedure due to the extreme pain she was enduring. According to the petition’s Cause of Action:
…everything thereafter appeared to be rushed, and the results of the botched abortion speak for themselves, as it is extremely doubtful that the Defendant Dr. Karpen will claim that what he did to Ms. Mendoza is a “poster child” of whatever skill he professes as a surgeon. The next day, Ms. Mendoza felt terrible and was in extreme pain. The pain was so intense that Ms. Mendoza decided to go to the emergency room at West Houston Medical Center, where a CT scan was performed, showing that she had a tear in her uterus and that she was bleeding internally.
The rupture caused by Karpen’s negligence was more severe than any uterine injury Mendoza’s surgeon had ever seen or read about:
When this case is tried, that physician will testify that what she thereafter observed with respect to the nature and extent of the injuries caused by Dr. Karpen was one of the worst injuries to a uterus that she had ever seen or read about. Dr. Karpen had performed the surgery in such a negligent manner that he had caused a “laceration defect in the lower left posterior uterus in a vertical manner, extending laterally and partially medially, in a T-shape form. The uterine cavity was completely open from this defect with the uterine arteries exposed. There was extension of the laceration to the posterior broad ligament.”
It is almost unimaginable that Karpen managed to botch a procedure so badly that he left Mendoza’s uterus torn open with arteries exposed to the point at which Mendoza was literally on the brink of death. Mendoza was twenty years old at the time, and will never be able to safely have children due to the negligence of Douglas Karpen. Mark Crutcher, of Life Dynamics, adroitly sums up Karpen’s shoddy work, pointing out that his skill set is typical of those in his gruesome profession:
It’s not like this is anything new.  I mean this is the same guy that killed a fifteen-year-old girl named Denise Montoya while doing a “safe and legal” abortion on her.  The fact is, only the washouts, losers and moral degenerates of medicine end up working at abortion clinics and Karpen is no different.
The OB/GYN who performed Mendoza’s life-saving operation after Karpen destroyed her uterus stated that, if Mendoza had not sought emergency treatment, she probably would have died as a result of Karpen’s negligence.
