Obama’s sagging numbers, at home and abroad
By Dave AndruskoConsider these two quotes:
“People in Europe were looking for a
political redeemer,” said Jan Techau, the director of the European
center of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace [referring to
President Obama]. “Those expectations, of course, were greatly
exaggerated.” – From Monday’s Washington Post
“For the first time in his
presidency, the poll also found less than half of respondents believed
Obama was honest. Forty-nine percent of those surveyed said he was
honest and trustworthy, a drop of 9 points from last month.” [To be
precise, a month ago 58% thought the President was honest and
trustworthy, to 41% who did not.] – From a story in today’s POLITCO,
referring to a new CNN/ORC International poll.
Of all the harbingers in the CNN/ORC poll probably the most unnerving for the Obama administration is the 17-point drop in support among Americans who are 30 or younger. Even they are beginning to understand the true nature of Obama.
From our single-issue perspective, we always take special heed when pro-abortion Presidents take a serious tumble. They—in this case Obama–might go to even greater lengths to try to placate the Abortion Establishment whose thirst to increase the number of abortions is unquenchable.
That notwithstanding, it is encouraging to see (to quote the Washington Post) that “the glow surrounding his presidency in Europe has faded” just as the bloom is beginning to come off the rose here at home.
