Gosnell TV movie reaches $2.1 million goal; tweetfest today seeks to secure 5,000 new funders before midnight

Gosnell Movie
On Friday, just three days shy of its deadline of May 12, the Gosnell movie’s Indiegogo campaign successfully achieved its $2.1 million funding goal. Producers will now be able to move forward with the film, which will be an expose about Kermit Gosnell as America’s most prolific serial killer. Responsible for the deaths of thousands of pre- and post-born children, and at least two maternal patient deaths, Gosnell spent years preying on abortion-vulnerable women from Philadelphia and beyond. Ann, Phelim, and Magdalena, masterminds behind the Gosnell Movie, will now move forward on the film’s production.

Although Kickstarter was the film’s initial crowdfunding platform, the company discriminated against the pro-life message of the movie and refused to host the campaign. Undeterred, the team turned to Indiegogo, where they ultimately achieved great success in a short time. Funding ends tonight at midnight, and as of publication the film has garnered an excess of nearly $100,000 over its minimum goal of $2.1 million.  The project was bound by “fixed funding” parameters, meaning that if the team could not raise $2.1 million by the May 12 deadline, all donors’ money would be automatically refunded. Nearly 25,000 individual funders came together to make this goal a reality.
Gosnell’s crimes were so numerous and so horrific that he is serving multiple life sentences now that he has finally been caught and indicted. However, the media have almost completely ignored the blatant bloodtrail Gosnell left behind, and as a result Americans at large are unaware that he is the biggest serial killer in American history. For this reason, Gosnell filmmakers chose to pursue national television (rather than theater) for their film. Gosnell’s story needs heightened exposure and awareness, and thanks to the crowdfunding success that the film has seen, this vision is now becoming a reality.

On this closing day of funding, the team’s goal is to grow the funding crowd with $1 contributors who will demonstrate the demand for the film now that it has been funded. According to their page, the next 24 hours are still very important:
We want you to get your friends and family to join this historic project, and we only want $1from them. We currently have nearly 25,000 contributors but we NEED to grow this number. Please encourage your family and friends to give just $1 and add their name – their vote to thegrowing army of people who are demanding that the censorship stops now.
