Chinese Woman Dying From Forced Abortion at 18 Weeks
by Steven ErteltWoman in China’s Guizhou province is in critical condition after family planning officials beat her and forced her to submit to an abortion. The woman, named Li Fengfei, was 18 weeks pregnant at the time of the abortion.
According to information provided to LifeNews by All Girls Allowed, a humanitarian group that supports victims of the one child policy in China, local Family Planning Officials dragged Li on July 9 to their office and beat her, knocking out one of her front teeth.
“Five officials forced her fingerprint onto the abortion consent form, then injected toxins into her uterus. She began to have a high fever soon after the injection,” All Girls Allowed indicated. “Seventy-two hours later, Ms. Li still had not given birth to the dead baby. To speed up the delivery, Family Planning Officials gave her another injection on July 13. Yet 56 hours later, the dead baby remained in Ms. Li’s womb.”
“A doctor who saw the report said Ms. Li was given a fatal dose of the abortion-causing drugs. This week, Ms. Li is near death and her dead baby remains in her womb,” AGA continued.
The human rights group added: “Despite public outcry against Feng Jianmei’s forced abortion in June 2012, forced abortion is still practiced throughout China. In fact, 18 of China’s 31 provincial-level districts endorse forced abortion. Ms. Li’s province, Guizhou, requires unspecified “remedial measures” to deal with illegal pregnancies.”
In May, a mother died following a forced abortion at six months of pregnancy.
“On May 23, 2013, 26-year-old pregnant mother Zhang Yinping was dragged to the local Family Planning Office (pictured above) in Yuyue, Hubei, for a forced abortion,” the group said late Tuesday.
“Despite being 6-months pregnant, the Family Planning Officials disregarded a national and provincial ban on late-term forced abortions and still went ahead with the forced surgery. After the surgery, Ms. Zhang suffered a massive hemorrhage and died the following morning on May 24th,” the group added.
That case came after international publicity over a newborn baby boy who was flushed down the toilet and discovered crying in a sewage pipe.
