Just the fact that Alveda King is pro-life and pro-family sealed her fate with the media. Everyone on line seems to have weighed in vilifying her. Although both her father and uncle were murdered, she has continued their legacy by embracing non-violence and color blindness. Alveda recognizes that black genocide is real, just as her uncle Martin Luther King realized that only peaceful protests would solve racial hatred, a lesson our media has refused to cover.
Just digest the media coverage for a minute. Not only did they not report on the hundreds of thousands of average Americans, who at their own expense, traveled to Washington, D.C. to pray for our nation, but they covered the Al Sharpton counter event ad nauseum. Is this the man who mirrors Martin Luther King's dream? Al Sharpton has never spoken on black genocide, a major problem in the Afro-American community, but instead, uses divisive rhetoric, believes in abortion and promotes racial hatred toward Jewish people.
Alveda King has not used her relation to Dr. King for money or power. In fact, she has used it to try to change our country from a culture of death to a culture of life.

I often see them on the bumpers of cars in the parish parking lot. There are several variations, but they boil down to the same thing: "Pray to End Abortion"
Frankly, these get on my nerves.
I fear that too many people sporting these stickers think that between their prayers, and their "public witness for life" -- that is, putting the bumper sticker on their car -- they're doing their part.
I believe that if God wanted to end abortion, He would do so without my prayers of encouragement.
I mean really, if God wanted to end abortion, He could very easily arrange a PowerBall jackpot to be awarded to someone like Joe Scheidler -- or me! -- and that would go a long a way towards getting the job done.
So if you're praying your daily or weekly rosary for life and that's all you're doing, I can't see that you're making any difference. I'm sorry if that offends you, but that's my perspective.
There's more you can do.
63 days from today, there are going to be elections held all over the U.S. Over 30 U.S. Senators, 435 Congressmen, a dozen or so governors and other state-wide offices, literally thousands of state legislators, and countless other local officials will all be chosen on November 2nd.
What are you doing to help a pro-life candidate? You don't need to tell me, but you do need to have an answer to this question. Because you know what? Abortion isn't going to end while it's still legal. And there will never be legal protections for the unborn until and unless we elect pro-life men and women to offices high and low.
The pro-aborts know this, and they are busily electing their own to library boards, town councils, park district boards, and every elective office from the lowest to the highest.
With so little time before the election, it's time and past time for pro-lifers to make their presence in the world felt. Somewhere near you, there is an under-funded pro-life candidate struggling to make a difference. Write him a check. Somewhere nearby, you will find a pro-life candidate struggling to get the word out about his candidacy. Volunteer to make phone calls or knock on doors for him.
Yes, yes, I know you're too busy. You've got work, and school, and kids and a family and house and sports and whatever else. If you're really pro-life, you'll find a way to make time, even if it's only two hours a week, or only two hours total, between now and election day.
This is why I haven't been blogging. I've been spending the last year in the trenches fighting abortion, first as a candidate for office myself, and (since losing my primary) working with other candidates and organizations. Right now I'm focused on the campaign of my friend Dan Sugrue, a hardworking Catholic family man who's trying to unseat a pro-abort Democrat. If you're in the area, you could make Dan a donation or volunteer to help. If you're not in the area, you could still make a donation (many of you donated to my campaign), or find a candidate local to you to volunteer with.
But I'm begging you, it's time to set aside the rosary, and pick up the phone. Time's running out.

Gosh, Diane Sawyer probably gave more than that with all of her interviews; especially the Obama interview. Everyday, Diane's dramatic tone tells us how wonderful the world could be without the damages done by the former President Bush and his policies, as well as his party. She's like the witch on the yellow brick road, misdirecting traffic away from the the way back home. Her flying monkeys are kidnapping the mind of the public, and wisking it away to her castle of death and deception.
I wonder how accurately they report on conservative issues. Take abortion - take the March for Life - this march is held every January 22nd to commemorate the Roe v Wade decision. Have you ever seen Diane interviewing anyone who attends the march? Or have you ever seen her at the march? Have you seen any major network news stations covering the march? If you have, you must have been watching an alternate media source.
This information has all come to light with a recent disclosure in a news release from the Washington Examiner, which reported that candidate Barack Obama received contributions from 710 employees of the three major networks, for a whopping total of $461,898 dollars! Wow! That's a lot of dollars. They say money talks and Barack Obama got elected. Hmmmm, there's mis-directing sign posts on the Yellow Brick road.
In 2008, John McCain ran as a Republican against the Democratic candidate, Obama. The major media employee contributions to his campaign totalled $26,926 dollars from 38 employees. McCain was endorsed by most pro-life voters, and most conservative groups.
In fact, in the same news release from the Washington Examiner, an analysis of campaign donations by media reporters, producers and writers found 88% of them went to pro-abortion candidate Barack Obama in 2008.
It's becoming very clear, that if you watch the major media outlets and listen to the soothing voice of Diane Sawyer, you aren't getting the news, but are being hauled off by the flying monkeys of the mainstream media and their influence ...

Obama made this announcement in March of last year, when he dismantled the Bush policy on embryonic stem-cell research. In issuing his executive order, probably from the Pearly Gates, the President claimed, "it's about protecting free and open inquiry, and letting scientists do their job - free from manipulation and coercion and listening to what they tell us, even when it's inconvenient. When science wins, we all win." Really? So Dr. Frankenstein is going to keep us alive forever? Peter has been given his walking papers by Dr. Frankenstein.
There's an inconvenient truth here that the President omitted. In order for the original Dr. Frankenstein to give his monster new life, he had to borrow body parts from the grave. At least that Dr. Frankenstein's donors died of natural causes. President Obama's donors are alive, and have not consented to be killed for their contributions to "science".
Enter Congress ... In 1996 there was a restriction (Dickey - Wicker Amendment) that was passed and repeatedly renewed that said, "Federal money may not be used for research in which a human embryo or embryos are destroyed". In a move that would put Chicago gangsters to shame, the Obama Administration evaded this ban by stipulating that Washington could fund such research, as long as it didn't fund the part where the fetus is terminated.
Enter a Federal judge with sense - Embryonic stem-cell research, he said, "requires the destruction of embryos". The federal prohibition encompasses all research in which an embryo is destroyed, not just the piece of research in which the embryo is destroyed." So any funding of experiments using embryonic stem cells is forbidden by law.
President Bush's policy allowed research only on stem-cell lines that had already been established. The idea was to facilitate studies without creating incentives to destroy any additional embryos. Obama, by contrast, took the view that the destruction of additional embryos, (those left over at fertility clinics) is essential to science. Wow! What a comparison of theology!
Now enter two Illinois wannabe Congressmen - one Democrat - one Republican - both united in their opposition to the federal judge's ruling. One has to ask, when a federal judge enjoins an executive order, because it violates federal law, why are two candidates for Congress saying they don't support the judge's ruling? That is unless we live in a divine monarchy. Where's Peter? Maybe he needs his old job back. Where are the town's people, torches in hand, who go after Dr. Frankenstein and his monster to destroy them before any more damage is done.

In Wisconsin, Planned Parenthood says, there's ample cause to celebrate the work of the organization, which has prevented far more abortions than it has performed. Here's the real facts.
In 2007, this "not for profit organization" Wisconsin Planned Parenthood made $22 million, of which 24% came from state and federal grants, another 17% from individual contributions, and 55% from insurance and Medicaid.
Wisconsin's Planned Parenthood has 27 health centers, 3 of which are on-site abortion providers, located in Milwaukeee, Madison and Appleton. I am sure all other Planned Parenthood facilities refer for abortion.
In Wisconsin, 77,000 women were served by Wisconsin Planned Parenthood last year. Their working budget for 2010 is $21 million. Of this $21 million, 73% is budgeted toward health care, 5% is for lobbying, (and for birthday parties) and 3% for education.
Planned Parenthood has gone a long way to make a child a choice. A very unhappy birthday to you - Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin.

In 1973, abortion on demand became the law of the land, consigning an entire generation to a reality never experienced by their parents. This reality being one of such utter immersion in violence and murder and the dehuminization and utilitarian use of people, the pinacle of which is the ultimate dehumanization of the unborn via legalized abortion.
What are the ultimate effects of such an immersion in violence? When one person's life is of little value, how does this affect the value of other lives? Cloaking the act of killing an unborn child, with the word choice, furthers the denial of the humanity of the child in the woman.
In a recent report, a pregnant teenager was murdered by her boyfriend because she refused to abort his child. Did the dehumanization of the mother's child in her womb, ultimately lead to her own dehumanization by her boyfriend?

Election time is here, and everyone has a different opinion on which candidate will best represents his or her principles. But who ever ideally completely represent everyone's principles 100% ? This is really an age old question.

Our kids have been immersed in a culture of depravity for over 40 years now. In 1973 abortion on demand was made the law of the land. Immediately, media pundits jumped on the band-wagon, and our culture collapsed under the weight of this legalized killing and its' effects. De-personalization occurred. The unborn were excluded from the human race and this exclusion was glorified in the pop culture, as a glorified freedom for women. Pornography, once a fringe element of our society, now moved into our mainstream entertainment and advertising venue. The fringe element became the norm, and the family as we knew it, collapsed.

The fabric of ancient civilizations, such as Greece and Rome, had certain foundations upon which those civilizations were built. As we see from history, a gradual erosion of those foundations, ultimately preempted their decline. Many great empires have risen and fallen over history. To determine the causes of their demise we must study history thoroughly. When we do, we ultimately find the seeds of destruction that were already germinating within the fabric of those civilizations before they fell. Each one, no matter how advanced governmentally or philosophically, had overlooked certain elements of behavior, which left a void that threatened the survival of those nations. For example, empires such as ancient Greece and Rome as well as many others, apparently had no particular grievance against certain sexual deviancies. Subsequently, there were no laws to either prohibit or promote those behaviors, or any need to protect behaviors which reflected the natural law. Only the ancient Hebrews still held fast to laws regarding every aspect of human behavior, in which Christianity followed. Thus emerged the Judeo-Christian ethic, upon which our nation was founded.
Our county’s government sought to knit as tight a fabric as possible, governing all aspects of human rights and behaviors, as to insure its’ survival. That fabric, combined the savvy of certain ancient cultures in their governmental and philosophical knowledge, along with the moral code of the Judeo-Christian ethic. These elements knitted together to form the tight fabric of our Constitution and our Bill of Rights. Within that Constitution, the Judeo-Christian moral code and belief, underwrote all other human ideas of justice and equality for all. This Constitution of our land, did not seek to rewrite the natural law or the moral codes of the Judeo-Christian beliefs, but rather to make them the bedrock of all considerations put forth by that constitution.
Now, with the idea of marriage, one of the fundamental elements of our society being redefined by our judicial system, that moral code is being written off. Thus the very bedrock of our civilization, so aptly defended by the Founding Fathers in the Constitution of these United States, is now being threatened. As with the Roe v. Wade decision of 1973, once again, Judge Walker has now launched an all-out attack against our form of government, which never intended for the Judicial System to be a legislative body. So, already, the seeds of destruction are evident when the will of the people, defended in our Constitution, is ignored and trampled on by judicial activism.
Will same-sex marriage then, be the end of our civilization as we know it? Of course it will. Unlike the ancient Greeks and Romans, our civilization was founded upon the moral underpinnings of the natural law, an aspect which those previous civilizations overlooked, leading to their downfall. We all know that when a once Christian Europe began embracing human ideologies, against those of the Judeo-Christian ethic, that this was the beginnings of the downfall of its’ civilization. A once mighty and powerful Europe is now a thing of the past, and great European nations are now mere shadows of what they once were.
Make no mistake then, that same-sex unions will be the death knell of our civilization as it once existed. The redefinition of marriage to include alternate lifestyles, will change the entire complexion of our civilization by promoting certain sexual desires over the Judeo-Christian ethic, which once underwrote that civilization. If same-sex marriage becomes legitimate, churches across the land will be forced to perform gay marriages or face being accused of denying the civil rights of these individuals. Imagine the repercussions of this. This is no small matter. Marriage and family will be a completely amorphous institution with no definite character or nature. Since marriage and family life are the seedbed of future generations, what types of fruit will such an unclassifiable structure of our society, without a definite character or nature produce? No amorphous institution or entity can remain so for long. It will ultimately dissolve into the vaporous void from whence it came. When the institution of marriage dissolves, our civilization will follow.
When Fr. Paul Marx, founder of Human Life International was asked what he felt would be the effects of "same-sex unions" , he answered, "When they do that, it's the end". He was specifically referring to the end of Judeo-Christian civilization, whose values have always formed the basis of American common life. Judeo-Christian civilization has been the basis of modern Western society for 2000 years now. If this civilization falls, all civilization falls with it. The institution of marriage has been one of the most fundamental foundations of that civilization. When we try to change the substance of any foundation, we naturally weaken it.

Death panels made the news, but only one major media figure reported these facts. Bill Gates gave credibility to Sarah Palin in his recent announcement that the only way to curve the rising cost of health care is to establish panels that will ration care, aka. death panels. The media went into a feeding frenzy when Sarah Palin announced that Obama's Health Care Bill would lead to death panels. The winds of time change, and now the media is fawning over Bill Gates and his promotion of death panels as cost containment measures.

Once upon a time, the idea of euthanasia and assisted suicide were only theoretical. Then came the Roe v Wade decision in 1973. This decision has resulted in a multi-layered profound change in society. Our society used to be a culture of life, and the idea of killing by choice did not exist. Killing by choice was defined and recognized by everyone as murder pure and simple.

On August 4th, Chief Judge Vaughn Walker of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, declared Proposition 8 had no "rational basis" in a 138 page ruling. Walker struck down the amendment, which states, "Only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California," on the basis that it violated the equal protection and due process clauses of the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.
Have you ever contemplated, what is a bubble? In the Wizard of Oz, the "good witch Glinda" descended in a bubble. Kids blow bubbles. And for those of you who remember, Lawrence Welk had the ultimate bubble machine, surrounding his orchestra with a cloud of bubbles. Bubbles LaRou has her place in history as well.
